If getting trampled, stomped on, bruised and elbowed by holiday shoppers isn't your thing (definitely not ours), consider shopping local in your neighborhood or shopping online with small businesses this after-Thanksgiving weekend (and beyond). If you live in Seattle, specifically in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, check this list.
And in this same vein, this Saturday is something called Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year - we like the sound of that. Oddly it looks like American Express is behind this movement. "When we all shop small, it will be huge." And as a small business ourselves, each purchase really does make a big difference in all of our fights to survive during these harsh economic times.
One last note before we join our families for Thanksgiving, we'll be having some announcements next week so stay tuned. We bid you all a safe and healthy holiday.

Esquire Magazine UK recently gave us a very kind mention.
"All Grant’s makes is pomade and it makes it very well. Perfect for multiple hair types and recreating Cary Grant-esque coiffures." -Esquire

We recently received this email from Michael over at Parlour and Juke, one of our new top shelf accounts. Michael had these kind words to say about our brand.
"I'm Michael, the barber at Parlour & Juke. I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much I'm enjoying your pomade. I can't tell you how long I've searched for something as easy as your pomade to work with for myself and my clients. After I describe it to my clients, it practically sells itself and it's flying off our shelves. A large number of my clients wear traditional haircuts and your pomade is especially well-suited for that. I used to use Dax and Royal Crown in my hair, topped with hair spray, and it was always a process every day to either wash out or add more. Grant's Golden Brand Pomade has totally changed all that, and I'm loving it."

Our friend Russ Manley has just opened his new brick and mortar in the trendy neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you have visited their original location in the Lower East Side you will not be disappointed by the high level of detail he spent in designing this salon. Polished brass, chrome "mirrored" trimming, original vintage barber photos and of course top quality haircuts. *Don't forget to grab a tin of Grant's when you stop in.

photo:Ben Toms Russell Manly the proprietor of Tommy Guns Salon in Manhattan is currently being featured in the latest Ben Sherman campaign.
"BACK in 1996 when Russell Manley transported the nickel cabinets from his barber shop in Brighton to his new salon in Soho, he could hardly have forseen that the journey would take him to Manhattan’s Lower East Side. But Russell’s Tommy Guns salon has seduced New York creative types just like it did in London. In four years the Tommy Guns founder has become New York’s sharpest English sartorial presence."
Cheers to Russell and Tommy Guns. Look for their new secondary NYC location in Williamsburg to open soon. Stop on in for a quality cut and don't forget to grab a tin of Grant's.
