Project '39 Pt.6

Part 6 in our series on Rob Fortier's/Rod & Customs 1939 Chevrolet Truck progress. Here we see the highly sought after finished 15" Artillery Rims (o.g rims, no re-pros here) freshly straightened, balanced and painted mated up to the new front end. Rob searched high and low for a clean set of these rims. They are getting harder to find, a lot of the "survivors" are dented, pitted or the valve stem holes are bad. When you do find a decent set they are fetching top dollar. 10 years ago you could find them at every swap meet for a decent price. With that said I think Rob will need to take out a separate insurance policy for these rims. More to come, stay tuned in. Looking Clean w/the fresh Silvertown white walls.

Cab for Grant's

Our old friend Steve Caballero is now endorsing Grant's Golden Brand Pomade USA. Stevie for those who don't know is the "Veteran of all Veterans" of skateboarders. A professional for more than three decades he is still winning competitions, case in point: he won the highly acclaimed Pro-Tec Pool Party contest last week. A proud husband & father of three kids he is also widely known in the car culture community for his classic Henry Ford rides and if that isn't enough he is now making his mark in the art world. Steve is accredited for designing & endorsing one of the most iconic vulcanized sneakers in production since 1992: The Legendary Half Cab from the Van Doren Rubber Company (my favorite sneaker).

Always a positive gent with a heart of gold, Mr. Caballero is now looking extra sharp with Grant's.

Project '39 Pt.5

Part 5 in Rob Fortier's Editor of Rod & Customs 1939 Chevy Truck. Here we see the vintage Bow Tie hauler with the front end in place. The engine is ready to roll along with the front suspension looking good. Another addition that Rob has added here is the a very rare Pecket "Comet" sun visor. This stage is about mocking up the loose ends to make sure everything functions & fits properly. The last thing you want to do is go to paint and you later have to take it down because you didn't measure properly. Rule #1: measure 3 times, before committing.

Project '39 Pt.4

Today we are catching up with the progress of Rob Fortier/Rod & Custom's 1939 Chevy Truck. Here we see Rob's freshly rebuilt 235 cid GM engine dropped in for many miles of boulevard cruisin' to come. Dual Rodchester carbs mated to an original Edelbrock dual exhaust intake which is bolted to a split manifold-nice. And YES, he is going to roll with 1 3/4" straight pipes for the perfect exhaust rapp. Why the 235 engine? If you are a Bowtie enthusiast like us, there is only one engine & exhaust set up for rollin' a bomb. A "tip of the hat" to Rob for keeping his truck Old World. Too many classic rides are falling to the fate of new world technologies for the lazy guys.Slow & Low that is the tempo
