The Seattle snow continues. This is what it looked like on our street with coned off hills. Most brought whatever they could find in their homes to sled with - swimming pool stuff, kitchen goods, and our favorite plain old cardboard and piece of plastic. And there was plenty of hard liquor and beer going around (note the photo of sledder with beer in his hands), which made for some downright silly, good times.

We're excited to welcome Mojo Barbershop to the Grant's Golden Brand Pomade family. The first of its kind in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mojo Barbershop offers cuts from talented barbers like Kaliq Rashad who's cut hairs for notable artists and athletes, straight-razor shaves, some stress-relieving pampering (which men need as well), and much more in the heart of Hawaii's historic Downtown/Chinatown arts district. Mojo Barbershop is owned and operated by a husband and wife team who lived in Portland, Oregon for 10 years before moving back to their roots in Hawaii and finding that Hawaii's gentlemen needed something more than low-end or high-end salons, and so Mojo was created to fill that void. The barbershop merges some old (antique barber chair from the 1920s found on Maui) and some new (flat screen TVs). In addition to getting a fine cut, folks can get some beers and listen to live music on occasions.

Although they just opened last month, Mojo's been great supporters of Grant's Golden Brand Pomade along with just a handful of carefully curated grooming goods. a short insight into the life of our friend - Jeff Decker. for those that don't know jeff is a vintage motorcycle customizer/restorer, classic car conditioner and the OFFICIAL sculptor commissioned by Harley Davidson. jeff's rides are tauted as some of the rarest customized pieces on wheels. his sculptures are also highly acclaimed by the high brow art socialites along with the low brow chopper circles. jeff in our books is a modern day high stlyed gent who is the real deal - no faux motor culture/fashion wanna be here. jeff is looking top notch now that he uses Grant's Golden Brand.

We'd like to introduce Radar Hair & Records as one of our latest accounts. We're especially happy because not only are they our Seattle neighbors, the shop is one damn cool place owned and operated by a nice husband and wife team. Radar Hair & Records is located inside a huge warehouse in an industrial area (SoDo). You walk into the space and you feel like you're in a different time.

In addition to styling hairs, they sell vintage goods for men and women - and by this we don't mean the overpriced holier-than-thou variety. We're talking the nostalgic kind - think Skid Row cassette tapes and Star Wars lunch boxes. If you grew up in a certain generation, you'll feel like they took all the stuff you had in your bedroom during your awkward years (and that you wish you had kept). And yes, there's pinball machines. If you walk into this colorful space and don't feel instantly in a better mood, then maybe you're just always a pissy person no matter where you are. Because of their enormous space, they occasionally have live music and events from time to time. They might also be one of the few businesses with near-perfect reviews on yelp.

On a more somber note, yesterday we were saddened to hear from owner Johnny that his wife/co-owner/long-time stylist/musician Betsy will soon be battling cancer. We wish them strength, courage, and positivity during this challenging time.

Today we are launching our brand new formula: "Medium Blend." We custom designed this formula with a tropical "Royal Hawaiian" scent, a "natural" light sheen and a medium hold.

Over the past year we received numerous requests for a pomade with a tad lighter weight than our Original formula to give your hair more manageability and a toned down sheen. The new custom scent was created as a throwback to Hawaii during it's golden era (1950's). This pomade is ideal for those who want a classic everyday groomed look. Like our other products this formula is water soluble and washes out cleanly in the shower.

Medium Blend has been in development for the greater part of 2011, today we offer the latest addition to our family to you.
